Trauma-Informed Birth Coaching

Prenatal, Birth & Postpartum Support:

Embodied Birth Coaching is to support you towards grounding and restoring safety within your body as you navigate the waves of changes through birth & postpartum. Together we create a path forward that nurtures your innate abilities and honors your needs.

Through a trauma-sensitive and holistic approach to wellness, my clients and I work on mind-body exploration for self-empowerment and resilience building.

One-on-one sessions blend various practices of guided self-reflection, psycho-education, breath-work, grounding, and mindful movement.

Conversations are geared toward deepening awareness of feelings and sensations while gently leaning into fears, triggers and expectations at the clients’ pace.

The aim is to establish a foundation of safety and resilience by creating a personalized and embodied toolkit which supports their unique experience.

What is Birth Trauma?

Trauma can be defined as any event, experience, or life circumstance which overwhelms your body's ability to optimally regulate your emotions. In sum, any stress to the mind - body - spirit that is 'too much, too fast'.

When a pregnant person has an underlying history of trauma, the journey through pregnancy and delivery may reactivate trauma memories stored in the body.

There is no checklist of events or situations that categorize a birth experience as traumatic. Birth trauma entirely depends on your unique history and development of your nervous system as well as your access to adequate social support. Every birth experience is unique because each nervous system is unique.

The body of a survivor may innately develop coping tools that disrupt the mind-body integration. The intention of Embodied Birth Coaching is to provide an opportunity for you you to better understand your nervous system and work toward building resilience and enhancing mind-body integration.
